ARE YOU A FREAK ABOUT WRITING?

Search an author, book, podcast, subject, story, service, publisher or keyword and find the Parking Spots around it.

Books, stories, authors, podcasts, audiobooks, publishing, AI, writing businesses, strange ideas, great writing, terrible writing and whatever else somebody finds interesting enough to park here.

✍️ WRITING IS WAY BIGGER THAN “I WROTE A BOOK.”

Writing the words is one job. Getting anybody to notice them is another.

I learned that one myself.

I wrote Wicked Darkness: Johnny’s Survival Guide To The End Times. Roughly 400 pages of wild Christian, spiritual and end-times rabbit holes. I put it on Amazon. I built WickedDarkness.com. Anybody who wants the book can find it.

Assuming they know to look for it.

That’s the annoying part.

Putting a book on Amazon can feel a little like putting it on a library shelf in a town of 500 people surrounded by an Iowa cornfield. Technically, the book is available.

Congratulations. The freeway is still on the other side of the cornfield. 😂

  • Words & stories — books, articles, scripts, essays, newsletters, podcasts, commentary and whatever else somebody actually sat down and wrote.
  • Publishing & production — editors, publishers, ghostwriters, designers, narrators, audiobook producers, tools and services that help turn those words into something finished.
  • Audience & discovery — the giant question that arrives after the work is done: how does anybody actually find it?

Writing it doesn’t mean anybody will find it.

That’s an absurd amount of stuff to talk about.

WELCOME TO THE ISLAND.

⭐ THERE ARE REALLY THREE SIDES TO THIS GAME

Authors, screenwriters, bloggers, journalists, podcasters, poets, copywriters, essayists and other storytellers start with words, ideas and something they want somebody else to read, hear or experience.

Editors, ghostwriters, publishers, designers, narrators, producers, agents, coaches and writing services help turn rough ideas and finished manuscripts into something ready for the world.

Marketers, publicists, platforms, creators, reviewers and writers themselves are trying to solve the part nobody talks enough about: getting the finished work in front of people who might actually care.

🌴 THE WRITERS FREAK ISLAND

Writers Freak is one Island inside Freak Sites. Every Island has its own world. This one is built around words, stories, books, podcasts, audiobooks, publishing, writing, media, tools, services and the people creating all of it.

I need enough room to wander around without turning the whole thing into one giant mess, so here’s where things currently park:

📚 Authors, Books & Storytelling
Authors, books, ebooks, fiction, nonfiction, short stories, series and the stories behind the stories.

🏢 Publishing & Self-Publishing
Traditional publishing, independent publishing, Amazon, KDP, book launches, distribution, formatting and the business of getting words into the world.

✏️ Editing, Ghostwriting & Writing Services
Editors, ghostwriters, proofreaders, book coaches, formatters, designers and other people helping writers make the work better.

📣 Copywriting, Content & Marketing
Advertising copy, content marketing, sales writing, book promotion, author marketing and words written to make something happen.

🎙️ Scripts, Screenplays, Podcasts & Media
Screenplays, scripts, podcasts, audiobooks, television, film, stage, adaptations, narration, video scripts and storytelling that moves from the written word into something people watch or hear.

📰 Journalism, Blogs & Newsletters
Journalists, bloggers, newsletters, commentary, essays, online publications and independent media.

🤖 AI, Writing Tools & Technology
AI writing, editing tools, text-to-speech, transcription, publishing software and whatever technology does next to the writing world.

💼 Writing Careers, Education & Business
Freelance writing, writing jobs, courses, workshops, representation, agents, writing careers and making money around words.

Some of what gets parked here will be mine. Some may belong to other people playing on the Island with me.

Either way, it gives me plenty to write about.

Although, yes, you can absolutely park a book here too.

Writers Freak was built on the mechanics of a listing site, so a Parking Spot can be used to promote a book, author, story, audiobook, podcast, screenplay, newsletter, writing service, editing business, publishing project or something else built around words.

That’s useful. It’s just nowhere close to the whole story.

A publishing disaster. A great book. A terrible book. A strange author story. An argument about AI replacing writers. A book deal. A podcast. An audiobook. A marketing idea. A screenplay. A writing business. An editor explaining what everybody gets wrong. A writer trying to figure out how anybody is supposed to find the thing they just spent two years creating.

Or maybe:

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYONE WRITE A BOOK IN 2026?

You might be better off starting a YouTube channel. 😂

That’s exactly the kind of rabbit hole I want room to wander into here.

THERE’S A LOT MORE HERE THAN “BUY MY BOOK.”

If the connection to writing, storytelling, publishing, podcasts, audiobooks, media, writing tools, services or getting words in front of people makes sense, there’s probably a place for it here.

🔎 I WANTED ONE PLACE TO FIND MY OWN WRITING STUFF AGAIN.

Writing is a massive world, and I already create a ridiculous amount of it. Why not build an Island where I can keep it, search it and turn some of it into something else later?

Books. Commentary. Articles. Stories. Research. AI. Publishing. Podcasts. Audiobooks. Audio. Marketing. Weird ideas I couldn’t stop thinking about.

Some of those Parking Spots may point people toward Wicked Darkness, Freak Sites, Cool Car Guy, my Sales Freak account or something else I’m building.

Some are simply stories or subjects I wanted to explore.

Either way, months later I don’t want to remember which social platform, podcast description, video description, document, post or digital drawer I threw something into.

I want to remember one thing.

THE KEYWORD.

Somebody brings up a book, an author, podcast, audiobook, AI, publishing, prophecy, storytelling or something else I already spent way too much time writing about and I think:

“I ALREADY WROTE ABOUT THIS.”

I don’t start scrolling through old posts.

I come back to Writers Freak and type what I remember.

AMAZON. PODCAST. AI. BOOK. EDITOR. STORY.

BAM. THERE’S THE PARKING SPOT.

Maybe I want to read it again.
Maybe something changed and I want to update it.
Maybe somebody is arguing about the subject and I already did the work.

Copy the link. Send it. Have a nice day.

A social post gets a timestamp.
A Parking Spot gets an address.

That’s what I wanted.

A searchable Island built around words, stories and everything around them, where the content I create doesn’t disappear into a feed.

Remember the subject. Search the Island. Find the Parking Spot.

🏝️ WANT TO USE THE ISLAND TOO?

I built Writers Freak for my own stuff. I’m going to keep using it whether anybody else does or not.

I’m already doing exactly what a Parking Spot is designed to do: creating content around something that interests me and using that content to promote my own brands.

If that makes you think, “Why wouldn’t I do the same thing for my book, story, audiobook, podcast, writing business, service, newsletter, screenplay, project or idea?” — that’s the point.

You may have already done the hard part.

  • Already wrote the book?
  • Already created the cover?
  • Already recorded the audiobook sample, podcast episode or video?
  • Already wrote the author bio, article, excerpt, show notes or newsletter?
  • Already built the editing service, writing business, screenplay, course, book page or publishing project?

Great. I’m not asking you to stop using any of it.

Give one piece of that work another place to work.

Add the photographs or cover art you already have.
Embed the video or book trailer you already made.
Tell the story.
Add the Amazon page, podcast, audiobook, website, price, links, contact information or whatever you want somebody to do next.

NOW IT HAS AN ADDRESS.

Now the book, story, audiobook, podcast, screenplay, newsletter, article, writing service, publishing project, author page or idea has its own page inside a niche website built around words, stories and everything around them.

A standard Writers Freak Parking Spot costs $7 one time. No subscription. No scheduled renewal. No scheduled expiration.

You get the same basic Parking Spot tools I use:

  • Up to 25 photos
  • Up to two supported embedded videos
  • Up to 30,000 characters for writing
    • No 280-character post limit here
  • Your own dedicated URL
  • Links, contact information and calls to action
  • A public view counter
  • A place inside the searchable Writers Freak Island

If a Parking Spot sounds useful, have at it. If not, keep looking around.

I’ll still be here using the Island myself.

WANT TO PUSH ONE PARKING SPOT FURTHER?

The standard $7 Parking Spot is the starting point. There are also optional one-time upgrades when they make sense:

  • Video Spotlight — $99
A finished 3–5 minute video I approve for publication through the @FreakSites channels on YouTube and Rumble and link back to a Parking Spot.
  • StoryDrive™ 1000 — $299
Add 1,000 additional recorded views to a Parking Spot.

And if you don’t need a Parking Spot yourself, you can still join the Affiliate Program for free and get paid for brokering Writers Freak Parking Spots (advertising) to people who do.

If it genuinely belongs somewhere around writing, storytelling or the world around words, park it.
If something changes, update it.
If you’re done with it, remove it.

ONE PARKING SPOT OR A WHOLE GARAGE. YOUR CALL.

Every Parking Spot connects to your profile inside WritersFreak.com. One Parking Spot is one page. Create more than one and they start collecting inside your Writers Freak Garage.

Keep going and that Garage can start looking a lot like your own writing Channel inside the Island — your books, stories, articles, podcasts, audiobooks, videos, scripts, services, publishing projects, newsletters or whatever else you keep parking.

An author might build a collection around multiple books or stories. A podcaster could build pages around episodes or subjects. An editor could build pages around different services. A screenwriter might park scripts and projects. A newsletter writer could build a library of ideas. A writing business might create Parking Spots around the different things it offers.

You don’t need to build a Garage or a Channel.

But you can.

🛠️ YOU’LL PROBABLY HAVE TO FIGURE A FEW THINGS OUT.

WritersFreak.com is not owned by a giant software company with a call center and a team waiting to build your page for you.

I built the system. I use it myself.
There are instructions around every Island I create to help you understand how it works.

If you can create your own Parking Spot, have at it.
If you decide it isn’t your thing, no problem.

Enjoy the content.
I’ll still be here writing and building interesting stuff.

💰 AND YES — YOU CAN BROKER THE ADVERTISING TOO.

I built the Island. I’m creating content and Parking Spots here anyway. And I left room for other people to use it.

If you help introduce somebody who looks at what I’m doing and thinks:

“WAIT A MINUTE… I COULD USE THIS.”

…and that person becomes a paying customer, I think you should be able to get paid for helping create that business.

You’re not getting a piece of somebody else’s book deal, publishing contract, podcast or writing business. That’s their business. I’m paying affiliates for selling Writers Freak advertising.

The Writers Freak Affiliate Program is free to apply for. I approve the affiliates. It’s not going to a committee — just me.

Once you’re approved, you get your affiliate link.

SHARE THE LINK.
SOMEBODY CLICKS IT AND BUYS.
YOU GET PAID.

The direct commission is 20%.

Your customer comes back later and buys another Parking Spot, Video Spotlight or StoryDrive™?

You can get paid again.

ONE COMMISSION IS A TRANSACTION.
A BOOK OF CUSTOMERS IS A BUSINESS.

Want to keep it direct?

Great. Find customers and take the 20%.

Want to build a network too?

20% → 15% → 10% → 5% → 5%

You don’t get paid for joining. You don’t get paid just because somebody becomes an affiliate.

The advertising has to sell.

I BUILT THE ADVERTISING.
YOU CAN BROKER IT IF YOU WANT TO.

If you can see the leverage in that, that’s what the Affiliate Program is for.

Books. Authors. Podcasts. Audiobooks. Publishing. AI. Great writing. Terrible writing. Book deals. Editing. Storytelling. Writing businesses. And whatever else makes me stop and think, “I need to write about that.”

I BUILT THE ISLAND.
YOU’RE WELCOME TO GRAB A SPOT.

Read the stories. Hear what gets said. See what gets written. Search the Island. See what people park here.

And if you want to grab a spot on Writers Freak, that’s what the Parking Spot is for.

Illustrations and examples are provided for educational, explanatory and editorial storytelling purposes.
